Happy second day of Spring! I know there is likely going to be more snow, as we seem to always get our biggest snowstorms in the spring, but I am definitely looking forward to some warmer weather!
Speaking of, this workout will get you really warm even if the temperatures are still frosty! Today’s workout is a Tabata. It is 4 minutes of work for each round, 12 minutes of work total for the entire workout. Don’t let that fool you though — you should be working HARD for those 12 minutes!
A Tabata is 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest for 8 rounds, or 4 minutes total. Complete 4 rounds of each exercise in the coupled pair (for the first pair, you will alternate between jump squats and standing crunches). Take as much rest as you need between each 4-minute interval.
I love workouts like this because I like to work hard, but I also like quick, efficient workouts that get the heart rate up without requiring a lot of time on a cardio machine. This workout can be tough, but it’s over before you know it! I love tricking my mind into doing hard things and for me, a Tabata workout definitely accomplishes that.
Have fun and I’ll see you back here next week!
